On 15 June 2026, ENFASYS partners gathered at the Hendrik Conscience Building in Brussels for the project’s final business workshop, titled “From case studies to operational business models.”
The workshop marked an important step in moving from mapping and analysis towards practical action. Drawing on insights from the ENFASYS case studies, partners worked together to explore which business models and strategies can realistically support farmers and other food system actors in the transition towards sustainable farming systems.
The session focused on a central question: what actually works – and what needs to be in place for it to succeed?
Through case study inputs, clustering exercises, expert reflections and joint discussion, participants examined possible business model combinations, target markets, value-chain opportunities, key barriers, cost-sharing questions and enabling conditions. Particular attention was given to understanding who carries the costs, how market opportunities can be strengthened, and under which conditions different approaches can become viable in practice.
The Brussels discussions continue tomorrow with the ENFASYS Final Event – stay tuned for more updates from the project!
